Brief Description: This painting, commissioned by James Jewill Hill, a well-known Penzance solicitor, and his wife, depicts their daughter and eldest son. Laura recalled getting extremely tired and uncomfortable standing on one leg. The Italian flag was included to celebrate Italy joining the Allies on 23 May 1915. An interesting detail is the self portrait of Harvey in the mirror. Harvey also painted a head and shoulders portrait of their younger son, James Junior.
