Brief Description: This painting is the first in a series of three works, depicting the perils of fishing life. In this work, the fleet is watched by villagers as it heads off to the fishing grounds. The second painting is entitled 'Disaster' and is owned by Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery. The third, also owned by Penlee House Gallery and Museum, is entitled 'Among the Missing' and shows the devastated villagers as they learn of the loss of their loved ones.
