Free admission for card holding members of the Friends of Penlee House, Penzance Pass, The Art Fund, Museums Association, South Western Federation of Museums and Cornwall Volunteers Scheme, and 10% discount for those traveling to Penlee by public transport.

Open on Monday to Saturday throughout the year, including Spring and Summer Bank Holidays. Closed on Sundays.

Penzance Pass

Residents of Penzance (Penzance TR18, Newlyn and Mousehole) can enjoy free admission to Penlee, Monday to Saturday, with the Penzance Pass. Please bring along proof of your address (utility bill, Council Tax bill or similar) to the Gallery to collect your Penzance Pass.

7 day Art Pass

A combined ticket is available for Penlee House, Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery, also offering 10% discount on shop purchases at Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange, Penzance. Holders may return as many times as they like to all or any of the venues during a seven day period. Full price £18.00, Concessions £14.00.


SHOP: stocked with a wide range of prints, books, gifts and souvenirs (mail order service available).


Please note: Not all the paintings are on show at any one time. If there is a particular picture that you would like to see, please let us know in advance of your visit or on the day.

CAFE: The Licensed Orangery Cafe has outdoor seating on the terrace and serves cakes and light lunches using the best of local produce. Child portions available.

PENLEE PARK: The surrounding park has sub-tropical plants and mature trees. The tranquil Memorial Garden and Sensory Garden offer places for quiet enjoyment. For younger visitors the park also offers a children's play area.

CHILDREN: Interactive 'Fisherman's Pockets' available to borrow during your visit with optical toys and games to keep younger visitors entertained, plus the 'Spot It' quiz and colouring table in the local history gallery.

WHEELCHAIR USERS & BUGGIES: there is level, ramped or lift access to all areas and an adapted toilet with baby changing facilities. A loan wheelchair is also available for use in the gallery.

EASY ACCESS GUIDE: written specially for Penlee by the John Daniel Centre. Large print hand-outs of the labels are available from Reception at the start of your visit.

AUDIO GUIDES: PenFriend Audio Guides and headsets are availbale to borrow for blind and partially-sighted visitors. LED torches and magnifying glasses aslo available.

TOURS & GROUPS: a free introductory talk is provided on request and a full guided tour can be arranged for an additional charge. Please note that prior booking is essential for all groups and the maximum group size is 25. Please visit our Group Bookings page for further details.

DOGS: Dogs are welcome on leads within the park, but dogs are not permitted in the building. A water bowl is provided on the terrace outside the cafe, and there are places to tether leads outside the front door.

COMMUNITY TOILET SCHEME: Penlee House is now part of the Penzance Community Toilet Scheme which offers free facilities.
