Victoria Cross, one of five medals won by Seaman Joseph Trewavas. Has a blue ribbon to signify that it is a naval medal. Has a lion standing on a crown on the front, with the words 'For Valour' beneath. Joseph Trewavas was the first Cornishman to be awarded the Victoria Cross. Awarded for an heroic act at the Siege of Sebastopol.
