The scene around her has been set up by Preston photographers, with a fur rug hanging to the left and with her leaning against a ledge. Preston's logo is imprinted in gold to the bottom-left, and 'PENZANCE' to the bottom-right.

He went to live at Teignmouth in 1906 after marrying Elizabeth Pollard, the daughter of a Penzance shopkeeper. By this time, his parents had both died and he had little contact with the rest of the family, after falling out with his father over the match. Below left is printed 'Robt. H.
