headed Borough of Penzance Mayor's fund for the poor 1938

A fragile document, printed black on white, under the name of the Mayor of Penzance, John Birch, printed in 1938 and soliciting donations towards the 'Mayor's Fund for the Poor, 1938'. It explains the reasoning behind the fund and how the total amount distributed from Christmas 1937 was over 130. The fund is now exhausted and the document states that Mr. Birch will restart it by the donation of 10.00.
