Notes:

In Britain the Chaffinch is the second commonest bird, after the Wren, with an estimated population of 5,400,000 pairs. It is frequent in gardens and in all weedy habitats with an abundance of seed on which it feeds. Normally they are single - brooded, laying four or five eggs.
