West Cornwall Arts Archive

The objective of the West Cornwall Art Archive, and those of its constituent organisations, is to establish a central and accessible study facility, where researchers and students can have access to relevant material in the area in which these artists worked.

A large store of original material (letters, papers, photographs, scrap-books, lists, catalogues, posters, minutes, news-cuttings and so on) related to art in West Cornwall is coming together for the Archive.

Until the purpose-built premises have been constructed the archives are housed at Trevelyan House, Chapel Street, Penzance, Cornwall; telephone 01736 366597. The purpose built stores and reading rooms are part of Phase 4 of the development of Penlee House Gallery and Museum, Penzance by Penzance Town Council in partnership with other community organisations. This multi-faceted education centre will comprise of classroom/workshop areas, a lecture theatre plus a purpose-built document store and reading room with state of the art technology to allow access to the archives collection by a world-wide audience.
